Diesel Cars
|
Diesel-powered cars generally are more fuel-efficient than equivalent gasoline engines.
At fueleconomy.gov they mention this number is about 30-35%. This sounded great when the price of diesel was less than unleaded gas. Now the tables have turned. With the price of diesel in some places being $0.66 higher per gallon which lowers your savings.

Diesel Pickup Trucks
|
Gasoline trucks might get better gas mileage than diesel trucks by themselves, but there is no comparison when it comes to gas mileage when you are towing or hauling something.
Diesel engines use compression ignition. Compression ignition is a process by which fuel is injected after the air is compressed in the combustion chamber causing the fuel to self ignite. With gasoline engines the fuel and air are mixed before ignition is initiated by a spark plug. Most diesel engines have large pistons. These large pistons draw more air and fuel which results in a bigger and more powerful combustion.
Are you ready to increase the mileage of your diesel pickup?

Heavy-Duty Trucks (Big Rigs)
|
This is the group of trucks who need a hydrogen system the most. They get the worst fuel mileage and they do the most driving. Adding a hydrogen system to a diesel big rig increases its' mileage and reduces its' emissions.
